Mobile Lightning Dashboard

Lightning monitor displays up-to-the-minute lightning data based on the latitude and longitude of your set location.

Note:

Lightning Manager® uses the exact latitude and longitude of each monitored location to make its calculations, it is updated with every update of lightning information. This method varies from the observed conditions data which is provided by the surface observation site closest to your asset location.

The Advisory Range, Warning Range and All Clear time are set in your Mobile Setup. To change your lightning monitor settings select the Locations Monitoring Menu option.

The lightning map displays the Advisory Range as a yellow ring and the Warning Range as a red ring centered on the latitude and longitude of the selected location. All available lightning strokes, in your authorized area, will be counted through the time frame set in All Clear time. The image displays 15 minutes of past strikes and is not tied to the All Clear time.

About the Lightning Manager® graphical display:

Note: An updated lightning image, strike count and countdown is available each minute. Return to the Menu and select Lightning. Next select Refresh to update the data in the display. The image shows the most recent 15 minutes of data from the refresh time, therefore if the All Clear time is set to anything other than 15 minutes, the strokes shown in the image will not match the number in the strike count.

Green

The Lightning Manager is green when no lightning has been detected within the set Warning, Caution or Advisory Range of the selected location. In this example the Warning Range is set to a radius of 10 miles. The Advisory Range is set to a radius of 30 miles thereby including a donut shaped ring from 10 to 30 miles around the selected location.

Yellow

The Lightning Manager is yellow when lightning has been detected within your set Advisory Range but not in your Caution or Warning Range within the chosen All Clear time. (Default all clear time is 15 minutes)

The Advisory All Clear countdown will count down from the most recent strike. A new strike within the Advisory Range but outside of the Caution and Warning Ranges will reset the Advisory All Clear countdown. Select Refresh to see updates to the image, strike count and countdown.

An Advisory Range must be set for this feature to be operational. If no Advisory Range has been set and no lightning has occurred within the Caution or Warning Range, the Lighting Manager will be green.

Orange

The Lightning Manager is orange when lightning has been detected within your set Caution Range but not in your Warning Range within the chosen All Clear time. (Default all clear time is 15 minutes)

The Caution All Clear countdown will count down from the most recent strike. A new strike within the Caution Range but outside of the Warning Range will reset the Caution All Clear countdown. Select Refresh to see updates to the image, strike count and countdown.

A Caution Range must be set for this feature to be operational. If no Caution Range has been set and no lightning has occurred within the Advisory or Warning Range, the Lighting Manager will be green.

Red

The Lightning Manager is red when lightning has been detected inside your set Warning Range within the chosen All Clear time. The number of strikes within the Advisory and Caution Ranges are also displayed if the Advisory and Caution Ranges have been set .

The Warning, Caution and Advisory All Clear countdown will count down from the most recent strike in each range. All ranges use the same All Clear time. A new strike within the Warning Range will reset the Warning All Clear countdown. Likewise a new strike within the Advisory or Caution Range will reset the Advisory or Caution All Clear countdown. Select Refresh to see updates to the image, strike count and countdown.

Gray

When the latitude and longitude of a location fall outside of the purchased lightning region it is said to be inactive. No lightning strokes will be counted for an inactive location.
