Lightning

Select a warning range, caution and/or advisory range between 5 and 60 miles (8/96 km). Warning range default is 8 miles (13 km) and advisory range default is 30 miles (48 km).

A 3 mile (5 km) warning range is allowed in the Airport Operations Edition.

A warning is generated if lightning is detected within the selected warning range of the location. A caution notification is generated if lightning is detected in the caution range. A lightning advisory is generated if lightning is detected within the set advisory range. The online interface cannot view strikes in the roaming coverage areas, therefore alerts will be received for roaming locations even when lightning strikes are not visible.

All Clear

Select a time frame between 10 and 30 minutes. Default is 15 minutes.

All Clear is the number of minutes that you require your range(s) to be void of lightning strikes in order to consider the area safe to resume business. When no lightning is detected in your advisory range for the set amount of time, you will receive an advisory area all clear alert. Likewise when no lightning is detected in your caution and warning range for the set amount of time you will receive a caution or warning area all clear alert.
